Our next Supply Chain Manager will lead the operational heartbeat behind procurement, vendor relationships, logistics coordination, and supply chain execution across the organization. This leader will own supply continuity, supplier risk management, inventory strategy, and operational responsiveness in support of manufacturing and business performance.

Supply Chain Manager – Top 5 Responsibilities
The Supply Chain Manager leads the function to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality sourcing of materials and services that support manufacturing and business operations. This role is responsible for developing vendor partnerships, optimizing supply chain performance, and managing procurement spend in alignment with company goals. Through strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration, the Supply Chain Manager drives purchasing excellence, enhances operational efficiency, and contributes to financial stewardship and long-term business success.
1. Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA) – Driving Supply Chain Excellence
Lead and develop the purchasing team to ensure strategic alignment with business goals and operational efficiency.

  • Inspire and guide the team to achieve organizational and departmental goals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities to strengthen the team, provide growth opportunities and manage performance proactively.
  • Manage performance with clarity, transparency, and constructive feedback, ensuring high engagement and retention.
  • Promote safety, quality, and operational excellence through daily leadership and cross-functional interaction.

2. Operational Excellence – Meeting Manufacturing Demands & Supply Chain Efficiency
Ensure uninterrupted production by executing efficient procurement and logistics strategies.
  • Fulfill manufacturing demands by securing raw materials and supplies in alignment with production schedules.
  • Oversee timely requisitioning and purchase order execution to maintain inventory levels.
  • Communicate evolving needs across departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Troubleshoot supply chain disruptions, proactively resolving logistics challenges.
  • Optimize transportation logistics to ensure cost-effective and timely material flow.

3. Vendor & Supplier Management – Strengthening Relationships & Ensuring Reliability
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure supply chain continuity and cost control.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships through proactive communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain an active supplier base, ensuring a diversified and competitive pool of vendors.
  • Negotiate cost-effective contracts and ensure vendors meet quality and delivery expectations.
  • Address vendor performance concerns and develop solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Act as the liaison between internal teams and suppliers to ensure seamless procurement operations.

4. Cost Control & Financial Stewardship – Optimizing Procurement Spend
Ensure smart purchasing decisions that align with financial objectives and long-term cost efficiency.
  • Analyze supplier pricing trends and negotiate for the most competitive rates.
  • Work closely with the finance team to track purchasing and logistics expenditures.
  • Compare and evaluate material, transportation, and supplier costs to maximize savings.
  • Develop and implement best pricing practices to improve the cost of goods and services.
  • Identify opportunities to grow and diversify the supplier/vendor base.

5. Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration – Enhancing Internal & External Partnerships
Ensure alignment between purchasing, operations, and finance through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between purchasing, manufacturing, and finance teams.
  • Communicate supply chain needs, challenges, and updates across departments.
  • Ensure clear, professional, and timely communication with internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Present procurement insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Uphold a professional demeanor and collaborative approach in all interactions.


Experience, Skills & Requirements for Success

  • 7–10+ years of progressive supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or operations leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial, oil & gas, chemicals, or related industries.
  • 5+ years leading teams in fast-paced operational environments with demonstrated success building accountability, developing talent, and improving performance.
  • Proven experience managing supplier relationships, strategic sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and procurement spend optimization.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations and ensuring continuity of supply in dynamic or high-demand environments.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to analyze purchasing trends, evaluate cost drivers, and support EBITDA improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex operational problems, prioritize competing demands, and execute with urgency under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and systems capability, including ERP systems, procurement reporting, inventory analysis, and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Sales, and Leadership teams to drive business results.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation coordination, or distribution operations preferred.
  • Experience leading during periods of operational change, growth, ERP implementation, or supply chain disruption preferred.

Education & Technical Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, reporting tools, and procurement/supply chain systems required.
  • APICS, CPSM, Lean/Six Sigma, or related certifications preferred.
Work Environment
  • Based out of the corporate office but travel required to operations facilities.
