Clements Fluids is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our facilities.  We are looking for a sharp mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician that can troubleshoot various mechanical and equipment repair needs through rebuilding, routine maintenance, and emergency maintenance scenarios.

General Summary of the Position

The Maintenance Technician ensures the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of plant equipment and facilities through routine inspections, preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and technical support. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, extending equipment lifespan, and enhancing overall plant performance by executing maintenance tasks, diagnosing issues, and collaborating with the maintenance team to uphold operational standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):

  1. Equipment & Facility Reliability – Ensuring Optimal Operational Performance
         Maintain all plant equipment to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plant equipment to detect potential issues early.
  • Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition and immediately address hazards.
  • Assist in maintaining facility infrastructure, including tanks, valves, and piping systems.
  • Work collaboratively with plant personnel and maintenance leadership to address operational needs.
  1. Preventive Maintenance – Maximizing Equipment Lifespan & Efficiency
           Follow a structured preventive maintenance schedule to extend the life of critical equipment               and reduce unplanned failures.
  • Adhere to rigorous PM schedules for key equipment, including:
  1. Centrifugal pumps
  2. Pump motors (diesel and electric)
  3. Forklifts
  4. Portable mixing units
  5. Tanks (carbon steel, fiberglass), valves, and piping manifolds
  • Document maintenance activities and report any concerns to the Maintenance Technician Manager.
  • Follow safety protocols and best practices when executing maintenance tasks.
  1. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics – Identifying & Resolving Equipment Issues
          Systematically assess mechanical failures to restore equipment functionality and optimize                   performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical and operational failures in plant systems and equipment.
  • Identify inefficiencies in mechanical components and recommend corrective actions.
  • Utilize troubleshooting methodologies to determine root causes of malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve breakdowns quickly and effectively.
  1. Major & Minor Repairs – Restoring & Enhancing Equipment Performance
         Perform critical repair tasks to maintain plant reliability and efficiency.
  • Rebuild and install/swaps centrifugal pumps as needed.
  • Conduct diesel engine repairs and rebuilds to support continuous plant operations.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs, including wiring and component replacements.
  • Execute valve replacements and routine general repairs to maintain system integrity.
  • Conduct minor welding, fitting, and fabrication tasks as required.
5. Technical Support & Training – Assisting in Maintenance Operations
Support plant technicians in developing technical skills and completing maintenance tasks safely and   effectively.
  • Lead plant technicians in assisting with ongoing maintenance projects.
  • Train plant personnel to identify and perform basic repairs as needed.
  • Guide technicians on proper techniques and skills required for various maintenance tasks.
  • Provide hands-on assistance and support the completion of maintenance projects in collaboration with the team.
Experience, Skills and Requirements for Success
  • 3 years Industrial Maintenance
  • Welding, electrical, and plumbing experience preferred
  • Must have knowledge of basic and complex tools and equipment.
  • Able to manipulate/carry/lift bags up to 100 lbs.
  • Demonstrate experience and knowledge with various building methods and elements and phases of projects
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook, are required.

Education & Technical Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Other: 

  • Must possess valid driver’s license and have, as well as maintain, a clear driving record. 
  • Willing to travel to other plant locations occasionally
  • Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident/incident testing.
